Headaches

Headaches are commonly caused by muscle tension, lack of sleep, stress, or migraines. They can generally be divided into several main types, each with distinct symptoms:

• Tension Headache: A dull, tight, or pressure-like pain, often described as a band tightening around the head. It commonly occurs in the afternoon or evening and is usually related to tension in the neck, shoulder, and back muscles.

• Migraine: A throbbing or pulsating headache that may affect one or both sides of the head. It can be accompanied by nausea, blurred vision, and sensitivity to light or sound.

• Sinus Headache: A deep, pressure-like pain around the forehead, cheekbones, or eyes. Nasal congestion or sinus symptoms are often present as well.

• Cluster Headache: Severe pain around one eye, usually on one side of the head. It may occur with red eyes, tearing, or nasal symptoms, and often happens at the same time each day over a period of time.

⚠️ When to Seek Immediate Medical Attention

Please consult a doctor promptly if you experience any of the following symptoms:

• A sudden, extremely severe headache that you have never experienced before
• High fever, stiff neck, or double vision
• Numbness, facial drooping, or weakness in the arms or legs

If the headache is mild, resting adequately or taking over-the-counter medication may help relieve the symptoms. However, if headaches become frequent or persistent, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
